Oncothyreon is collaborating with Merck KGaA of Darmstadt, Germany (Merck KGaA) for the global development of Stimuvax®, a therapeutic vaccine currently in a Phase 3 trial for non-small cell lung cancer.
Under the terms of the collaboration, Merck KGaA is responsible for the worldwide clinical development and marketing of Stimuvax. All clinical development, regulatory, commercialization and marketing costs for Stimuvax have been borne exclusively by Merck KGaA since March 1, 2006.
Oncothyreon will receive significant cash payments based on the achievement of certain process transfer events, for BLA submission for first and second cancer indications, for regulatory approval for first and second cancer indications, and for sales milestones. Oncothyreon will receive a royalty based on net sales. Oncothyreon retains responsibility for the manufacture of Stimuvax, including process development and scale-up for commercial manufacturing.
